My Story
As a young girl at 13 to 14 years old, I formed one great habit called exercise, which I have managed to orient into my life for most of my life. Call it an antidote, stress reliever, confidence booster or whatever, but for me it was my great anchor of control.
As time went on this “good habit” became less and less as life got busier. Looking back now, even before exercise took a “back-seat”, I could see the whole relationship between food, body concept and exercise was not healthy. I struggled with time, fatigue, and snacking to stay awake and food as an emotional cushion. Food was not a friend, but a coping mechanism, a comfort-punishment thing. And my weight went up and down- a frustrating scenario.
This personal struggle continued for many years. Over those years, I began to study the relationship to food and how it makes you look, feel and perform and the connection to many chronic diseases. My personal journey and experience as a Nurse Practitioner has allowed me to see many others who have the same struggles. I have also seen that applying the knowledge and the right tools on a one-on-one basis works-because each person is unique. One small detail can make all the difference for one person in weight loss and not at all for another.
And that is where I find Lifestyle/Wellness coaching so valuable for weight-loss. Feeling comfortable and confident and energized is so important to enjoying life. Coaching works with each individual to develop a co-creative one-on-one plan to bring about that dynamic change. As your coach, I am fully committed to working with you to bring about your weight-loss goal in a healthy process with a beautiful self-image.
So, are you ready for that kind of change? Are you ready to see life with a fresh, new perspective by seeing you in a new way? Whatever, you decide, by reading this mission, you have started with the thought which is a key to unlock that door!
