Moving into my 40’s, life got busier and I was struggling with my weight going up and down. Snacking was frequently an “emotional cushion” and a way to stay awake. Carbs and caffeine were my go to food and drink. I often felt tired and drained.
This personal struggle continued for many years. Over those years, I began to study the relationship to food and how it makes you look, feel and perform and the connection to many chronic diseases.
My personal journey and experience as a Nurse Practitioner has allowed me to see many others who have the same struggles.
I have also seen that applying the knowledge and the right tools on a one-on-one basis works-because each person is unique.
One small detail can make all the difference for one person in weight loss and not at all for another.

As a Lifestyle/Wellness Coach and Weight-loss Coach, I work with people to develop personalized action steps to overcome obstacles and achieve their desired goal or dream. Using deep listening and powerful intuitive questions as the framework for this process, the client develops insights into the keys for their success. Each coaching session is an opportunity to learn and build on the previous success (personalized actions steps) with the coach as an accountability partner and encourager.
Coaching is not therapy and does not make a diagnosis or a treatment plan. Coaches see their clients strengths and areas that require further development. Coaches use their insights and intuition to lead and guide the client to fulfillment. Coaching is present-focused, right where you are now.
Coaching is not consulting which gives advice to solve problems. Consulting is problem-only focused instead of individual-focused. It takes individual focus to bring an individual’s internal solutions to problems.
No, many clients use a weight-loss plan they have used before, are familiar and comfortable with and would like to use again. I would only accept a plan for coaching that is balanced and therefore a healthy plan that has been well studied and proven. If a client does not have a food plan, I will have several balanced food plans that you may choose at the very first session. Part of the learning process will be to understand different foods and how they work for weight-loss, energy and health.
Yes, it is important to complete all the sessions since they build on one another. For successful weight-loss and maintenance, a gradual process needs to occur. Quick fixes without deeper changes usually do not last.
